The existing communities in Florida and South Carolina have become wildly popular — and now the concept is heading west for the very first time.
What’s planned for Sutter County?
The development, called Lakeside at Sutter Pointe, is being built by Lennar and Winn Communities. Here’s a snapshot of what’s in store:
- 1,100+ homes in the first phase
- 3,700+ total homes at full buildout
- 875 acres in the Lakeside portion
- 55+ active adult community
The community is being designed with all the hallmarks of the Margaritaville lifestyle: a lagoon-style pool, concert stage, fitness center, and resort-style amenities at the center of it all. Streets will have names like Turquoise Avenue and Coral Reef Street, and parks shaped like flip-flops and guitars. Yes, really.
When can I move in?
The project is actively moving through the county approval process right now. Sutter County supervisors have already approved new project maps and permits for up to 20 model homes. Final changes are expected before the county planning commission in April and supervisors in May — after which building permits for homes can be issued. In other words, things are moving, and this is the time to pay attention.
